mbeard@maada.com
Matthew followed in the footsteps of his father, who was a mechanic for the Georgia Power Company. His professional automotive career began in 1991 at the age of 17, when he formed his own company specializing in the total restoration of vintage foreign and domestic vehicles. He performed all areas of restoration such as interiors, electrical, powertrains, paint and body. Matthew received a B.B.A. in Business Management from Kennesaw State University in 1998. It was there that he caught the "teaching bug" while working on a class service learning project. This project required him to teach a class of third grade students at Brumby Elementary School, and he loved the experience. After college, Beard worked as a Collision Repair Technician at Classic Paint and Body in Marietta. He followed this with automotive instructor assignments at Cherokee High School in Canton and at the North Metro Technical College in Acworth.
